Smokey didn’t just transform the lives of those we helped together; he profoundly changed mine. As I step into a new phase of my professional journey, I’m blessed to have him beside me. When Smokey ‘retired’ in 2020, I wondered if I should too. How could I continue without him, the one who made everything seem effortless? Yet, his retirement opened my eyes to lessons more profound than I could have imagined: 🐴Change is challenging, yet it’s the seed of growth. 🐴The past is a memory; the future, our direction. 🐴When the energy feels wrong, step back and reassess. 🐴Endings are merely gateways to new beginnings. 🐴Soul connections transcend forms and species. Reflecting on our journey together fuels my soul with strength and courage for what lies ahead. And now, Smokey is carrying me again, in a different yet equally profound way. Repaying him isn’t about grand gestures or material things; it’s about providing a safe, peaceful haven in his retirement, sharing moments of quiet companionship, and recognizing that sometimes, not everything needs to change for growth to happen.
