Debunking rodeo myths 👇🏻 ‌ -Spurs used by bronc & bull riders are not electric (yes there was an isolated cases of use by Andy Kocher who is a showjumper, which is an English riding equestrian event. In 2021, the FEI Tribunal ruled that Kocher receive a 10 year suspension & fined 10,000 francs and ordered to pay 7,500 francs in costs) ‌ - The flank straps do not have spikes or pepper spray on them. ‌ - Flank straps are not tied around the (community guideline edit) to cause the animal to buck from pain. They go around the flank as a physical cue that it’s time for the animal to buck. When it’s on the bull/horse knows it’s time to buck.
