LINCOLN COUNTY, Wis. (WSAW) - Most of the small animals living in a barn in the town of Pine River are believed to have died in a fire early Monday morning. The Pine River Fire Department was dispatched to the fire on Hwy 64 around 5:45 a.m. Monday. When crews arrived, there was heavy smoke and flames coming from every side of the barn. The roof had already collapsed. Firefighters got the fire under control within 15 minutes and worked for another two hours putting out small pockets of fire. The property owner told firefighters rabbits, turkeys and chickens lived in the barn. Some chickens were able to escape, however, it’s believed most of the animals died in the fire. Although the damage to the barn limited the investigation, the property owner said a heating lamp was being used in the barn the night before the fire. πŸ₯°πŸŽ₯ @firehorserescuekits #fire #firesafety #barn #farm #animals
