Winter feeding means trying to make sure things are easy on me as possible while ensuring the health and happiness of my herd. I like to put out grass bales so the horses have a grazing option and then I feed straight alfalfa at feeding times. This seems to allow them to keep food in their bellies preventing digestive issues and keeping them warm. Supplementing with alfalfa with the grass provides them with more calories and nutrients. I use @haychix hay nets for my grass bales. These simulate grazing by slowing down how much the horses can eat and also reduces waste. 🥰🎥 @tmhokens #cowgirl #horses #feed
