If you’ve ever visited us @hazelnutfarms.ny , chances are you’ve met Whinnie. 🤍 Known formally as Winning Ways, Whinnie is 28 years young and happily enjoying retirement. These days, she has earned the freedom to free-range the property, so you never quite know where you’ll find her. Grazing by the fence, wandering the trails, or quietly stopping by to say hello, she’s become a favorite of volunteers, families, and children alike. This day, Our kiddo found Whinnie… and Whinnie chose to stay. As he whispered secrets and covered her with kisses, she stood quietly beside him, offering nothing more than her calm, steady presence. No expectations. No agenda. Just a beautiful moment between a child and a horse. We often talk about the healing power of horses, but moments like these remind us that healing begins with a relationship. One built on trust, choice, and a quiet willingness to simply be together.
