It seems like a scene from another time. And yet we encountered it yesterday, in the mountains near Monte Livata. A man and his mules, used to transport wood out of the forest. It's called packhorse, an ancient practice linked to the work of muleteers and the use of mules and donkeys to transport materials through hard-to-reach terrain. But why does it still survive today? Because in the mountains, there are places where a tractor simply can't reach. Narrow paths, slopes, woods, and difficult terrain still make pack animals an incredibly effective tool. And there's another aspect: where practiced correctly, working with animals allows access to certain areas with a very different impact on the terrain than heavy vehicles. Today, it has become rare. Have you ever seen it in person? If so, in which part of Italy? ๐Ÿฅฐ๐ŸŽฅ @wildones.ride #horses #horsetrekking #muletrackers #mules #ancientcrafts #Italy
