I breathed in. He breathed with me. I didn’t ask Linus to do that. I just sat close, and breathed the way I actually needed to breathe in that moment. There’s real research looking at whether a horse or donkey’s physiology can actually shift alongside a person’s, not just their behavior. What it shows so far is careful, not certain: synchronization is possible, but it isn’t automatic. It seems to depend on safety, familiarity, and how much room there is for stillness. It’s not a technique or something you can force. This wasn’t staged. I wasn’t trying to make anything happen. I just breathed, and his body answered. I wrote up what the actual research says — what’s supported, what’s still uncertain — in Research Note No. 1: When Nervous Systems Synchronize. Comment NOTES and I’ll send you the sign-up to get it, and the ones after it. Peace & love, Melissa and Linus 🥰🎥 @melissajeanpt #breathwork #equinescience #coregulation #nervoussystemregulation #donkeys #breathe #cute #cuteanimals #nature #science #equine
