Those signs aren’t flaws in your character. They’re what a nervous system does after it has been on alert for too long. And you can’t think your way out of it. It settles through the body, through breath, pace and the ground under your feet. I’ve been bringing horses into my PT work since 2005. What they give us is an honest mirror. A horse notices what your body is doing before you do. Stand beside one long enough and you start noticing too. That’s what we’ll practice together this October at Riding in Redding, in partnership with @stablefriendshipsfoundation Four Monday mornings, one small group. We’ll arrive and ground ourselves, move gently and spend time alongside the herd at their pace. The horses choose how close to come, and we let them. No riding, and no horse experience needed. Mondays, October 5, 12, 19 and 26 9:00 to 10:30 AM 301 Redding Rd, Redding, CT Comment PADDOCK and I’ll send you the details and the link to save your place. If you want to understand what your nervous system is trying to tell you, and what horses can teach us about it, follow @melissajeanpt.
