Tanymal, one of the Akhal Teke horses I met on my research trips to Turkmenistan. 🇹🇲 His name means « well-known » in Turkmen, and he was one of the buddies chosen to accompany us in the first exploratory trip on horseback in this authoritarian country. I didn’t share at all about these trips, but there were failures, many disappointments and there were small wins in these years of research. Regardless the adventure was worthwhile.
