Here’s the truth—horses don’t lie. They don’t perform. They don’t people-please. They don’t tell you what you want to hear. When your nervous system is dysregulated, they feel it. When you override your body’s signals, they mirror it back. When you finally drop into presence… they soften. And yes—taking care of them during a blizzard, digging out buckets and questioning my life choices, does not escape this truth. ❄️ They still read me. Every time. That kind of honest feedback is rare. And it’s exactly what the nervous system needs to learn what safety actually feels like—not what we think it should feel like. Co-regulation isn’t about forcing calm. It’s about staying present with what’s real. That’s the work. That’s the paddock. Have you ever had a horse call you out without saying a word? 🙋🏼♀️ I would love to hear!
